Things People Ask Us

How do I find a Masonic lodge near me?
The easiest way is to use our state directory above — pick your state, browse the lodges, and look for one that meets on a day that works for you. Most lodges also welcome walk-ins at public events and dinners, so don't be shy. If you're nervous about showing up alone, that's totally normal — just know that lodges exist specifically to welcome new people.
How many Masonic lodges are there in the US?
There are an estimated 10,000+ active lodges across all 50 states and DC. Our directory currently lists over 4,500 of them — with Texas leading at 403, followed by California (282), Florida (213), and Ohio (200). The numbers have been declining since the 1960s peak, but there's been a real resurgence of interest among younger men in recent years.
Why is this free? What's the catch?
No catch. The directory itself, the tools, the guides — all free, no sign-up, no email required. We built this because we thought it should exist.
Are you affiliated with any Grand Lodge?
No. LodgeFinder is an independent project. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any Grand Lodge, Grand Orient, or Masonic body. The information here is compiled from publicly available sources. If you spot an error in our directory, let us know — we want this to be accurate.
